Juliet Parker Cole wasn't your odinary thirteen year old girl. She lived in L.A., which was full of psycho's. So she should seem normal, right? That wasn't the case.
Juliet, like many was a foster child. Although that was common, it seemed to scare people off. What scared people off more, was her visions.
That part of her that was considered very "weird". (Even in open-minded L.A.) She knew too much, and people feared her knowledge. They thought she was the cause of everything! If someone was going to get in a car crash, because the mechanic screwed up their car... she knew. Juliet could tell them, exactly what was wrong with their car. And how they were going to die. If it was going to rain on the day the most famous couple had planned their wedding (on the beach) she'd beg them to put it off for another week. Juliet could tell her foster dad about his past. About the past he doesn't speak of. She saw the past, present, and future. When most just see the present...what's right in front of them.
Juliet could change things, stop them. She can make things happen that aren't supposed to. Only she didn't know why. Why?
Darien Peirce was your average sixteen year old boy. Nothing "weird" about him. He went to school, had a family, friends, and a crush.
His crush was a girl named April Roberts. He didn't just like her, he loved her.
The strange thing about people is they're all different, yet completely the same! We all have a soul, we all have feelings, a dream or a goal...we all want something! That something that we all want is usually to just be loved. But just because we want it, doesn't mean we all get it.
Darien was walking back from school. It had been a long day for him... April and her friends made fun of his clothes. I guess I really don't have a chance with her, unless I change. I just don't know what exactly to change into. I really need some help. He dropped his books. Okay now I am thinking too much about her, that I can't even hold my books. He looked down at his books scattered on the pavement, and saw somebody else's hand reach for them.
"Here," Juliet started to gather the books.
She had been behind Darien for awhile. As she picked up the last book, her eyes closed. Why her eyes closed, she didn't know. She had to close them. A vision was sneaking into her mind.
A girl. She saw a blonde girl. Blue eyes. She's pretty, but not nice. The girl was turning Darien down for a date. "Love, he loves her," The Voice, she always heard spoke to her, "Help him"
"Are you okay?" Darien starred at the girl who was passed out on his books.
"Yeah," she got up, "I'm just fine!"
Juliet started to walk past Darien, but then she remembered her vision.
"Uh, do you live around here?" she tried to start a conversation.
Okay, now I so sound like a stalker, she thought.
"Kinda" he answered
"O-kay, that means?"
"Yes, but no"
"I'm lost..."
"I don't quite live 'near here', but I don't live far from here."
"Oh, I get that!" Juliet rolled her eyes, "So..."
"So?"
She felt so stupid, trying to talk to someone she doesn't know. He obviously wanted to be left alone.
"I don't know what to say, that's all..."
But she had to either fallow him home and start stalking him, or become his friend. I think friend is better!
"Then don't talk to me" Darien started to walk a bit faster.
"But..." She noticed an anime character on his shirt, "My fav show!"
"Excuse me?" he turned around.
"Your shirt."
"You like that show?"
"Uh, yea...why?"
"You brought the subject up. And most girls don't like it."
"I'm not most girls," She smiled honestly.
She wasn't most girls, obviously. Juliet was different. Cursed. Gifted. Special. Weird. Depressed, yet appeared happy.
"Do you like any other anime?" Darien broke through her upsetting thoughts.
"Of course," she lied.
"...Like what?"
She froze. She hadn't watched an anime in over three years, to be exact.
"Well, my minds totally blank right now"
"It's okay."
Now she blew it. I should've just said, "Hey! I just had a vision of your true love, and your gonna screw it all up! So let me help ya, kay?"...or not.
"Do you read manga?" he smiled, trying to continue their unfinished conversation.
"Sometimes"
Great now he is doing all the talking!
"Well this is my stop!" Juliet smiled kindly, but she was very nervous, "Goodbye, Darien."
"I never told you my name..."
"No, but your books did." Juliet headed for the door of her home.
"Wait, you can't live here, this is a restaurant"
"But I do live here. My foster parents own the place," she walked in.
"Uh..." Darien continued his walk home.
Juliet's long, wavy hair fell down as she took her hair tie out. What a day! She eyed the restaurant for her family and friends.
"Hey, Renn!" Juliet looked over at her best friend.
Renn was a kid who came to the restaurant often, he practically lived there. He was a family friend and in love with Juliet.
"Charles, Venessa, and Raille!" She smiled, acknowledging her family.
Charles was her foster dad and Vanessa was her foster mom. Raille was her foster sister.
Raille was only ten, but she was Juliet's favorite out of all the children. They never fought and they understood eachother. Raille was a lot like Juliet.
Juliet had one foster brother, Christoper. He was eight, but she's only known him for a year. He was a newbie.
Tom was Juliet's older brother... her real brother.
Juliet had one last foster sister. Lucy was the oldest girl, she was sixteen. Juliet couldn't wait until she was eighteen.
"Any visions lately?" Renn asked Juliet.
She sat down at his table with a cup of coffee, "Actually, yea..."
"Really, what about?"
"True love"
He smiled, "Did it have me and you in it?"
Renn, was eighteen and loved Juliet ever since he saw her. Juliet thought he just had a foolish crush on her.
He's too young and immature to feel something so powerful as love
"no, it had this dude in it, and a girl turning him down. But he needs her as does she."
"What do you need?" Reen got serious on her.
"To have you help me with him?"
"I'm sorry, but... You can barely believe in my love for you, but you believe in that guys for whoevers?"
"Yes," Juliet was calm and serious, but also appeared extremely happy.
When she said "yes" it hurt Renn very much, because Juliet seemed to emotionless. He could see through her fake happiness, that she wasn't saddened by his words.
"I can't help you then."
"Fine then," Juliet sighed.
Your the one who wanted me to ask.. Juliet didn't understand Renn, why does he have to be some complicated?
"Jule, I'm moving..." Renn put his head down.
"Where to?" Juliet's heart stopped.
Althought she didn't love him, she cared for him. She didn't want Renn to leave her... not yet. Not ever.
"New York City"
"But...that's so far!"
"You'll live." He smiled, "I'm leaving tomorrow, so I have one night left to make you fall in love with me."
